The season of Lent begins on February 22nd with an Ash Wednesday service. Lent marks the forty-days of sacrifice and spiritual preparation before Easter. What will you give up for Lent this year to help you remember what Christ gave up for you? What will you do for God and others extra this Lent to recognize what God has done for you? Our Ash Wednesday service begins at 7:00 pm. We will mark this solemn occasion with music, a message on Mark 7:1-23 entitled "Clean on the Inside," and the imposition of ashes to mark our repentance and dependance upon what God has done for us in Christ.

DivorceCare divorce recovery seminar and
support group: Meets at
Child care provided through 5th grade.
DivorceCare for Kids is a biblically based support group designed to bring healing to children of divorce. Through the use of DVD dramas, music, puppets, stories, fun games and activities, children learn to process the breakup of their once-intact family. DC4K is designed to give children the tools to develop healthier relationships within their own families and to give each child of divorce hope for the future. The group will meet each Thursday starting January 12, 2012 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in conjunction with our DivorceCare support group for adults at First United Methodist Church, 1601 Charleston Avenue, Mattoon.
