Sunday School

  • Senior High Sunday School Class is made up of senior high school students. Our class begins with prayer requests and a sharing time to discuss events happening in the students’ lives. We also have a Bible study, followed with a related video. We end the session with discussion and a prayer. We meet on the upper level of the church in the Senior High classroom from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. The class leader is Steve Ferguson.

  • Christians Under Construction (7th and 8th Grade Sunday School). Our name describes that we are constantly under construction all of our lives, but striving to become more like Christ, not through works, but by trust. Jesus also gave the commandment to make Disciples of Christ. In the 7th and 8th grade class we teach the students how to make Disciples of Christ by teaching them how to be Disciples of Christ. In addition, we coordinate and teach the confirmation class, which is held every two years. Christians Under Construction meets in Room 303, at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. The leaders are Terry and Kathy Awalt.

  • Fifth/Sixth Grade Sunday School Fifth and Sixth graders are welcome to join us in the Sunday school class at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. We use the “Heartshaper” curriculum, but have frequent diversions from the provided material to focus on specific topics. Anyone in the fifth or sixth grade are welcome to join the class and leaders Dan Young and Jane Orman. We meet in Room 220 at the First United Methodist Church.

  • Fifth/Sixth GradeElementary 2-4 Grade Sunday School class for elementary students is taught by Scott and Susan McDevitt.  Curriculum resources present Biblical truths through use of many creative activities such as word finds, scrambled letters, matching exercises, and other things to challenge young minds.  It provides a good atmosphere for children to learn and grown.  Room 216

  • Kindergarten /First Grade Sunday School class meets Sunday mornings in Room 217, off Fellowship Hall.  Children hear familiar Bible stories told in simple, easy to understand language and meet unforgettable bible characters.  Shaping young hearts is the goal of the “Heart Tugs” curriculum.  Teacher is Darlena Arthur.
